The current state of waste disposal is marked by issues such as overreliance on landfills, insufficient recycling capabilities, and global repercussions of improper waste disposal on climate change (Brown & Taylor, 2019; Smith, 2018; EPA, 2022; Jones et al., 2020). Recognizing the urgency of addressing these challenges, this paper aims to delve into the obstacles hindering efficient waste disposal systems, including technological limitations, socio-economic disparities, and policy and regulatory challenges.
