Author Guidelines and Submission
Pyrrhic Press welcomes submissions from researchers, practitioners, educators, students, independent scholars, and interdisciplinary authors.
Manuscripts are evaluated according to their scholarly content and suitability rather than the prestige of an author's institutional affiliation.
Who May Submit
Authors may include university researchers, faculty, graduate students, undergraduate researchers, independent researchers, industry practitioners, educators, professionals, and interdisciplinary research teams.
Institutional affiliation is not required unless a particular journal or research context requires one.
Types of Manuscripts
Pyrrhic Press journals may consider:
- Original research articles
- Applied research
- Case studies
- Literature reviews
- Systematic or structured reviews
- Theoretical research
- Business and management research
- Technology and computer science research
- Education and STEM research
- Health related interdisciplinary scholarship
- Language and communication research
- Professional scholarship
- Scholarly perspectives and commentary
- Other manuscripts appropriate to a journal's stated scope
Manuscript Preparation
Research manuscripts should contain sufficient information for editors, reviewers, and readers to understand and evaluate the work.
A typical research article may include:
- Title
- Author information
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Background or literature review
- Research question or objective
- Methodology
- Results or findings
- Discussion
- Limitations
- Conclusion
- References
- Funding statement when applicable
- Conflict of interest statement when applicable
- Data availability statement when applicable
- Ethics statement when applicable
- Artificial intelligence disclosure when applicable
Citations
Authors should use a recognized and consistent citation style appropriate to the discipline.
References must accurately identify the sources relied upon in the manuscript.
Authors are responsible for verifying citations and references before submission.
Author Information
Authors should provide:
- Full name
- Current institutional or professional affiliation when applicable
- Contact information
- ORCID identifier when available
- Manuscript title
- Abstract
- Keywords when requested
- Funding disclosure when applicable
- Conflict of interest disclosure when applicable
- Ethics information when applicable
- Data availability information when applicable
Originality
Authors must accurately represent the originality and publication history of their work.
Relevant previous publication, repository deposit, conference publication, or simultaneous submission should be disclosed when applicable.
Multiple or redundant publication must not be concealed from the editor.
Artificial Intelligence Disclosure
Authors must disclose material use of generative artificial intelligence in preparing a manuscript when its use extends beyond straightforward language correction, editing, or formatting.
Artificial intelligence systems may not be listed as authors and may not be cited as scholarly sources.
Authors remain responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all submitted content.
What Happens After Submission
Research manuscripts first undergo editorial screening.
A manuscript that passes editorial screening and requires independent peer review will normally be assigned to at least two qualified independent reviewers.
Following review, authors may receive a decision of acceptance, minor revision, major revision, additional review, or rejection.
Author Fees
There are currently no submission fees, editorial processing charges, article processing charges, peer review fees, page charges, color charges, or publication fees for Pyrrhic Press scholarly journal articles.
Copyright and CC0
Authors retain copyright in their original scholarly work unless a separate written agreement provides otherwise.
Unless another license is specifically identified, accepted open access scholarly content is published under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication.
Authors should only submit material that they have the right to publish under the applicable terms.
Third Party Material
Authors are responsible for identifying copyrighted photographs, illustrations, figures, datasets, trademarks, excerpts, or other third party material and obtaining permission when necessary.
Submission Agreement
By submitting a manuscript, the submitting author confirms that:
- The submission information is accurate to the best of their knowledge
- Authorship is appropriately represented
- The manuscript complies with applicable research integrity standards
- Relevant conflicts have been disclosed
- Relevant funding has been disclosed
- Relevant previous publication has been disclosed
- Required ethical information has been provided when applicable
- The author possesses authority to submit the manuscript
- The manuscript complies with applicable Pyrrhic Press policies
