About Pyrrhic Press Publishing

Pyrrhic Press Publishing is an independent open access scholarly publisher based in New Jersey, United States.

Our mission is to make scholarly and professional knowledge freely accessible while supporting responsible authorship, research integrity, transparent editorial practices, and long term scholarly discovery.

Pyrrhic Press publishes scholarly journals and other research and professional works across multiple disciplines.

Our Open Access Commitment

Pyrrhic Press supports immediate open access to scholarly research.

All scholarly journal articles published under the Pyrrhic Press open access model are available online immediately upon publication without a subscription, reader payment, embargo period, or registration requirement.

Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, index, analyze, and otherwise lawfully reuse open access content according to the license applicable to the work.

Standard Open Access License

Unless otherwise specifically stated, original scholarly content published by Pyrrhic Press is released under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication.

CC0 permits unrestricted lawful reuse of the covered work to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Pyrrhic Press nevertheless expects proper citation and attribution as matters of scholarly and professional integrity.

The ability to reuse material under CC0 does not permit a person to misrepresent authorship, falsify provenance, or commit plagiarism.

Material Not Covered by CC0

The Pyrrhic Press CC0 policy applies only to material for which the author or publisher possesses sufficient rights to authorize the dedication.

Third party photographs, illustrations, logos, trademarks, trade names, personal likenesses, copyrighted excerpts, datasets, graphics, and other separately protected material are not released under CC0 unless explicitly identified as such.

Pyrrhic Press names, logos, trademarks, service marks, branding, and other protected identifiers are not released under CC0 merely because they appear on a Pyrrhic Press website or within a publication.

Third party material should display the applicable copyright, license, permission, or rights statement when appropriate.

Copyright and Author Rights

Authors retain copyright in their original scholarly work unless a separate written agreement explicitly provides otherwise.

Under the standard Pyrrhic Press open access model, authors authorize publication of the applicable scholarly work under CC0 1.0 unless another license or rights statement is specifically identified.

Authors grant Pyrrhic Press the nonexclusive rights reasonably necessary to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, preserve, archive, index, and provide access to accepted work.

Author Charges

Pyrrhic Press does not charge authors a submission fee, editorial processing charge, article processing charge, peer review fee, page charge, color charge, or publication fee for scholarly journal articles.

There are currently no mandatory author charges associated with submission, peer review, acceptance, or publication of scholarly journal articles.

There is therefore no author fee waiver program because no such author fees are currently charged.

Authors are never required to make a payment in exchange for favorable editorial consideration.
