Pyrrhic Press Publishing is committed to open access, editorial transparency, independent scholarly review, research integrity, responsible authorship, and the long term accessibility of scholarly work.
The policies and standards in this section establish the framework used by Pyrrhic Press journals to evaluate, publish, preserve, and provide access to scholarly research.
These standards apply across Pyrrhic Press scholarly publications unless a journal or publication clearly identifies an additional discipline specific requirement.
Our Publishing Principles
Pyrrhic Press operates according to several core publishing principles:
- Immediate open access to scholarly research
- No reader paywall or registration requirement for open access research
- No mandatory author publication fees for scholarly journal articles
- Author retention of copyright in original scholarly work
- CC0 1.0 as the standard open license unless otherwise stated
- Transparent editorial governance
- Independent peer review for research identified as peer reviewed
- Management and disclosure of conflicts of interest
- Clear distinction between peer reviewed research and other published content
- Responsible authorship and research integrity
- Human oversight of consequential editorial decisions
- Corrections and retractions when necessary to protect the scholarly record
- Accurate scholarly metadata and persistent identification when available
- Long term preservation and accessibility of published research
Editorial Board and Governance
Pyrrhic Press maintains a multidisciplinary Editorial Board supporting scholarly standards, subject matter evaluation, research integrity, and editorial oversight.
Our governance framework also establishes procedures for editorial independence, conflicts of interest, recusal, and manuscripts authored by editors or Editorial Board members.

Pyrrhic Press maintains standards addressing responsible authorship, plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, citation integrity, research ethics, conflicts of interest, artificial intelligence, data integrity, corrections, retractions, and post publication concerns.
Authors, editors, reviewers, and readers may also use these procedures to report credible concerns involving published or submitted research.

Peer Review and Editorial Process
Research identified by Pyrrhic Press as peer reviewed is subject to editorial screening and the applicable independent peer review process.
Our peer review standards address reviewer independence, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, reviewer responsibilities, revisions, editorial decisions, and special handling of manuscripts authored by editors or Editorial Board members.

Author Guidelines and Submission
Authors can review manuscript requirements, authorship expectations, citation standards, disclosure requirements, artificial intelligence requirements, research ethics, the editorial process, publication fees, copyright, licensing, and submission requirements before submitting their work.
Pyrrhic Press welcomes submissions from researchers, practitioners, educators, students, independent scholars, and interdisciplinary researchers.

Preservation, Metadata and Publication Practices
Scholarly publishing extends beyond publication of a PDF. Pyrrhic Press supports accurate metadata, persistent identifiers, author identification, article level records, repository distribution, version integrity, discoverability, and long term access to scholarly work.

Open Access and Author Rights
Pyrrhic Press scholarly research is published under an immediate open access model.
Readers are not required to purchase a subscription, pay to access open access scholarly articles, or create an account to read them.
Pyrrhic Press does not currently charge submission fees, article processing charges, peer review fees, or publication fees for scholarly journal articles.
Authors retain copyright in their original scholarly work unless a separate written agreement provides otherwise.
Unless otherwise specifically stated, original scholarly content is released under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication. Third party material and separately protected trademarks, logos, photographs, names, likenesses, and other protected material are excluded unless specifically stated otherwise.

Transparency
Pyrrhic Press seeks to clearly identify the policies, people, processes, rights, and responsibilities involved in scholarly publication.
We distinguish publisher ownership from editorial oversight, editorial review from independent peer review, and original open access content from third party protected material.
Pyrrhic Press will only claim indexing, accreditation, certification, membership, preservation arrangements, or other external relationships when those relationships can be reasonably verified.
Journal Specific Information
Each Pyrrhic Press journal maintains information concerning its own aims and scope, readership, manuscript types, publishing schedule, ISSN, editorial information, and scholarly content.
Authors should review the individual journal information in addition to these publisher wide standards before submitting a manuscript.
